Tired of going on line to place the same order every time you
need coffee? Use our
auto-order system to place
a single order that will automatically re-order itself at whatever frequency
you would like.
All of our WeTCaT engine based websites including this
domain, garyhull.com, employ the use of SSL (Secured Socket Layer) protocol.
Both ApacheSSL and Apache+mod_ssl are employed
depending on the equipment and server to which you are connected.
The site engine will automatically switch you back and forth from https
(Secured:443) and http (Non-secured:80) modes, this is accomplised
by several mechanisims for various reasons. Hopefully switching occurs
without your even being aware of the change. However there
are a few items which may require a little explaination to help
you understand what is happening and why messages appear at certin
points:
1) Some of our site server certificates where created by
know authorities and your browser will accept them without notice,
however do to the large number of servers we employ
some of our server certificates are self signed, meaning
that we created the certificates ourselves rather than paying the
costly yearly fees associated with maintaining known authority
signed keys.
What this means in terms of operation? When you are swicthed to
SSL mode for the first time in a given session
on a server with a self signed
certificate your browser will prompt you with an message:
The message is simply letting you know that the certificate
was signed by an UNKNOWN Authority. Meaning not signed by a compnay
in the list inside your browser. You will note that the certificate
is infact VALID and CORRECT for the server you are running.
Simply answer YES
to Proceed and it will not prompt you again with this message during
your browser session.
You do not need to permenatly install this certificate path
as the server you are using may indeed be equiped with a KNOW AUTHORITY
certificate the next time you visit.
2) When using SSL you may encounter pages that are accessing
remote images that do not reside on the current server,
items having fully quallified URLs to remote servers which do
not require SSL.
We have tried to avoid this
for the most part automatically, however, if you are prompted with
"THIS PAGE CONTAINS BOTH SECURE AND NON SECURE ITEMS
DO YOU WANT TO DISPLAY THE NON SECURE ITEMS, simply answer yes.
These are more than likly just images from one of our other servers
that do not require SSL. Not anything to worry about..
No pages are requesting secured information entry will have this type
of error on them. Only when you browse content system i.e photo manger
etc. while SSL is enabled will this message appear.
