What is the iceCAT / WeTCaT project?
In a nut shell the iceCAT / WeTCat domain engine is a complete web
e-commerece and domain / content management infrasturcture, designed to be
the core of all of our current and
furtue web projects. The engine is 100% internally developed in PERL and C
and is completely SQL driven. Current DBA interfaces include both Informix SE (IBM) and MySQL.
Initial design considerations for (8) unique domains with (10+) different applcation services were taken into account during its' engineering and development. Each of these domains are listed at the bottom of this page with a breif description of thier use and demographic targets. It is designed to be deployed on virtually any UNIX/Linux flavor with either apacheSSL or apache+modSSL webserver installed.
The name WeTCat was simply an after thought. I wanted a short and simple
name to call the project and this sounded as good as any. The name came
from an old picture of Ernie (our now 20lb Hemmingway Cat) getting a bath in
the sink when he was just an overgrown kitten. The picture was rather amusing
to me so I made the below image from it. The acronyms below were developed to
fit the name. Not the other way around. As to it's ture meaning
well it doesn't matter, but for the pupose of this project the below
definitions are at least some-what appropriate.
